(If you get it right for people with a disability, you get it right for everyone)

We are pleased to announce that SAFE is now working with Debbie-Lyn Connolly-Lloyd and Steve Ashcroft. Debbie is reviewing the accessibility of pubs, cafes and restaurants for wheelchair users under the name of “Wheelchair Model Diaries” and we have created a page with this name where you can read what she found. SAFE is contacting each venue about the availability of a large print menu and we will also be encouraging them to include easy to find, clear accessibility information on their website. We will add our findings to the appropriate page.
Debbie shares our passion for improving accessibility for people living with a disability and has recently and deservedly won the Pride of Sefton Award for Diversity and Inclusion
Steve Ashcroft is the creator of QLocal and Southport News and is he is using these two media outlets to publicise what SAFE and Debbie-Lyn are doing and to educate the public on the problems faced by people living with a disability, which is proving invaluable.
