Costa Coffee in Birkdale
Review by Wheelchair Model Diaries
I met with a friend to chat business at Costa Coffee in the beautiful Birkdale Village during last week. The cafe is situated just a stones throw away from Birkdale Train Station. I got dropped off by car, and we parked on the corner near the station using my Blue Badge, as parking spaces in Birkdale Village are very limited!
My first impression was excellent as there was a steady sloped ramp for my wheelchair and then an automatic door access to the front!
I sat at a table near the back for easy access to the disabled toilet facilities, and there was plenty of room to negotiate the tables, as well as the table being the perfect height for me to stay in my chair. The staff offered table service for me as it was nice and quiet and I was very grateful for that too.
The toilets were accessible although there was no automatic door facility here, and they were in reasonable condition.
I had a gorgeous frappe which came in a cup with a lid which is very handy for me as I can tend to spill things during episodes of tics! There were plenty of plugs for chargers and free wifi, making it the perfect option for business meetings, and meeting friends!
